As the temperatures warm and the days grow longer, Paso Robles wine country comes to life with a flurry of colorful sights, sounds and activities. April’s festivities include a celebration of the Rhône varietal, an exhibit of precious, sparkling gems, as well as a flock of antiquing “hens.” And with each of these events taking place at the Paso Robles Event Center, you’re just steps away from all the fun by staying with us at the Adelaide Inn.

April 14 – 16: Hospice du Rhône Weekend
Known as the Home of the Rhône, Paso Robles grape growers and winemakers will gather with producers and importers from around the globe to celebrate the popular varietal. Over 100 representatives will be on hand to pour wine, share their passion and educate Rhône lovers with seminars, wine and food pairings, and luncheons and dinners. A live auction will be held to raise funds for future Hospice du Rhône events and educational programs that support viticulture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. April 23 -24: 25th Anniversary Rocks & Gems Show
Rockhounds unite! This popular show and sale features local geology exhibits of precious minerals, ancient fossils and sparkling gems. The Santa Lucia Rockhounds will be on hand to reveal the magic and beauty of Earth’s geological wonders. Presentations include “What’s in your Backyard?” And an engaging discussion with returning speaker, Richard Wade, “The Dinosaur Guy.” Geode cracking, kids’ activities, demonstrations and prizes are all in the mix. April 23, 1p – 5p: Earth Day Food and Wine Festival
Whether you wear your boots or your flip-flops, this low-key, annual event celebrates the culture and passionate people behind the sustainable food movement. Nestled under the oaks at Castoro Cellars in Templeton, the popular gathering has become the acclaimed culinary experience of the season with food producers, award-winning wineries, and area chefs serving up an array of delicious food and wine pairings.
With grass-fed meats, artisanal cheeses, local olive oils, and even some Central Coast chocolate – you won’t go hungry even if you’ve been getting down to the live music all afternoon.

April 30 – May 1: Three Speckled Hens Antiques and Old Stuff Show
Get ready for non-stop antiquing adventure! The Three Speckled Hens Antique Show is a Paso Robles born, bi-annual tradition that has been ranked as one of the nation’s top antique shows. Whether you’re searching for chic home or garden décor, craft materials, jewelry, or a unique vintage trinket, this event offers loads of special buys.
The Three Speckled Hens — Carrie, Susi and Kathy (and their circle of exceptional gal-pals) — have assembled a treasure trove of dealers and exhibitors that offer a kaleidoscope of colorful, fashionable and imaginative items to inspire and admire. And to insure everyone has a great time, the show also features a “Hen Pecked Husband” area with comfy chairs for relaxing and reading.
Breakfast and lunch can be found on-site at the Coop Café and snacks are available from participating food trucks. Need a break? Stop by the show’s bar for a glass of local wine or a Bloody Mary.
The Three Speckled Hens Antique Show is pleased to support Jack’s Helping Hand, a charitable organization that provides assistance and community programs to children and young adults under the age of 21 with cancer or special needs.
